Dance Class + Havdalah
חשמלי (Hashmali) or ‘electric’ in Hebrew.
This night will be all about energizing and electrifying our bodies through guided dance and movement. We will mark the transition out of the restfulness of Shabbat into the week with vibrant dancing that nourishes the spirit and soul.
We will start the evening by delving into a few contemporary writings related to the Jewish body to bring intention and awareness to our movement. The night will proceed with a fun all levels, easy-to-follow dance class rooted in modern, African and folk dance led by Amie Segal.
We’ll end the evening with Havdalah led by Jessie Duke and more freestyle dancing for those who want to stick around and boogie! See you there!
This program is intended for experiential learners seeking to weave together Judaism and embodied practice.
