Klesmer-esque Dance Jam
w/ Live Klezmer by Dobry Dobry

This evening of dance is all about moving into the new year with grace, joy and boldness. Join us Saturday night for a fun-filled follow-along dance class set to live Klezmer music where we'll find our footing—LITERALLY (and spiritually)—for the year ahead.

Accompanying live will be Solomon Alber and his groovy Dobry Dobry Klezmer band 🎷🎶 The movement and dancing will be guided by Amie Segal, but no experience needed, just show up as you are! And don't worry, we know how to laugh when we miss a beat.

Dance Class + Havdalah
חשמלי (Hashmali) or ‘electric’ in Hebrew.

This night is all about energizing and electrifying our bodies through guided dance and movement. We will mark the transition out of the restfulness of Shabbat into the week with vibrant dancing that nourishes the spirit and soul.

This program is intended for experiential learners seeking to weave together Judaism and embodied practice.

Yiddish Dance Workshop
w/ Live Klezmer

Step into the dances of the old country with a Yiddish revival twist! Accompanied by live klezmer, you’ll learn to dance a variety of traditional styles — freylekhs, bulgars, zhoks, and more. Sarah Myerson is a Yiddish musician, dance leader and Cantor who is visiting from New York. We’ll learn the fascinating history and evolution of Yiddish dance from its Eastern European roots to its modern revival in North America.
